Capturing & Sharing the Vision

About This Department

The Media Department is the ministry support department responsible for the effective communication, presentation, capture, preservation, and digital distribution of church services and events. Its mandate is to ensure that every service is heard clearly, seen properly, presented professionally, documented accurately, and extended to online audiences with excellence.

The department serves both the in-person congregation and the wider digital community by integrating technical production, visual communication, content documentation, livestream operations, and social media engagement. Through high-quality media operations, it enhances service flow, strengthens congregational engagement, preserves key moments, and expands the reach of the gospel beyond the auditorium.

Core Mandate

The Media Department exists to:

  • Deliver clear and professional audio for services, livestreams, and recordings.
  • Create worship-enhancing lighting environments.
  • Project lyrics, scriptures, announcements, and sermon content accurately.
  • Capture video and photography content for archival, ministry, and communication.
  • Stream services live to digital platforms.
  • Manage the church’s social media presence with structured content and engagement.
  • Preserve media assets through organised storage, backup, and archiving.

Operational Values

The Media Department operates with a clear set of values, reflected in the way it prepares for service, cares for equipment, archives files, trains its members, and reviews every service after the fact.

Units Under the Department

The Media Department operates through eight specialised units, each with a distinct role in the life of a service.

Sound & Audio Unit
Unit A

Sound & Audio Unit

The Sound & Audio Unit is responsible for all church audio operations, including front-of-house sound, broadcast sound, and recording. Its role is to ensure consistent, clear, safe, and professional sound delivery during worship services and events. The unit manages microphones, sound checks, mix balancing, live troubleshooting, audio–video sync for livestreams, recording management, equipment care, and technical training for sound personnel.

Lighting Unit
Unit B

Lighting Unit

The Lighting Unit is responsible for creating and maintaining a worship-enhancing lighting atmosphere that supports service flow and visual media production. This unit manages the lighting console, fixtures, preset scenes, cue transitions, and auditorium visibility. It works closely with the worship, projection, and streaming teams to ensure lighting aligns with the mood and movement of the service while remaining safe, non-distracting, and technically reliable.

Projection Unit
Unit C

Projection Unit

The Projection Unit is responsible for timely and accurate on-screen display during church services. It handles lyrics, scriptures, sermon graphics, videos, and announcements using presentation software such as ProPresenter or PowerPoint. The unit ensures that visual content is properly prepared before service, displayed at the correct cue during service, and archived after service. It also supports audience engagement and service flow by ensuring clarity, accuracy, and visual consistency on all screens.

Camera / Videography Unit
Unit D

Camera / Videography Unit

The Camera / Videography Unit is responsible for professionally capturing video content of church services and special events for live production, archival storage, and post-service editing. The unit coordinates camera positioning, live capture, intercom communication, file transfer, and footage review. It ensures that service moments are recorded in a way that supports worship, minimises distractions, and provides quality visual material for future edits, highlights, and ministry archives.

Photography Unit
Unit E

Photography Unit

The Photography Unit is responsible for capturing respectful, powerful, and story-driven images during church services and events. Its work supports church branding, outreach, event documentation, and visual storytelling. The unit covers key moments during service, manages post-production editing, applies approved visual standards, and collaborates with the social media team to ensure timely and appropriate publication of selected images. It also observes privacy and content-handling protocols, especially for sensitive events and member imagery.

Live Service Video Streaming Unit
Unit F

Live Service Video Streaming Unit

The Live Service Video Streaming Unit is responsible for broadcasting church services and events to online platforms such as YouTube and Facebook. Its work includes pre-service testing, stream setup, graphics and overlay management, scene transitions, audio sync verification, live monitoring, emergency fallback procedures, recording preservation, and performance tracking. This unit extends the church’s ministry beyond the physical space by providing a seamless digital worship experience for remote audiences.

Social Media Management Unit
Unit G

Social Media Management Unit

The Social Media Management Unit is responsible for the church’s digital communication and online engagement across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, and Podbean. The unit oversees content planning, scheduling, posting, moderation, live updates, platform management, link distribution, analytics, and digital brand protection. It also coordinates with photographers, designers, editors, streaming, projection, and camera teams to ensure that the church’s message is communicated consistently, accurately, and strategically across all digital channels.

Creative Art Unit
Unit H

Creative Art Unit

The Creative Art Unit uses creative expressions such as drama, skits, choreography, spoken word, costume, and props to support worship, teaching, evangelism, and church communication. It develops and presents creative content that communicates spiritual messages in a clear, engaging, and ministry-aligned manner. The unit oversees script development, casting, rehearsals, costume and props coordination, performance readiness, content approval, and post-event review — working closely with the Pastoral Leadership, Sound, Lighting, Projection, Camera, Photography, and Social Media teams so that every presentation is spiritually appropriate, visually effective, and technically supported for both the in-person congregation and digital audiences.

How the Units Work Together

The units under the Media Department function as one coordinated ministry support system. Sound supports both in-house worship and broadcast output. Lighting enhances the visual atmosphere for the congregation, the camera team, and the livestream. Projection provides real-time on-screen communication for the congregation and online viewers.

Videography and photography capture and preserve service moments. Streaming distributes the service digitally, while social media extends engagement before, during, and after services — all coordinated through intercom systems, run-of-show documents, shared file storage, and clear reporting lines to media leadership.
