About This Department
The Music Department, operating under the brand name Shekinah Avenue Music, is the worship and music ministry of Shekinah Avenue Church, Ogbojo. Comprising the choir, instrumentalists, and supporting vocal and technical team members, the department leads the congregation in praise and worship, creating an atmosphere in every service that honours and glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. Every service features well-prepared, Spirit-led music that is rooted in the Word of God, consistent with the Glory Mandate, and grounded in the Gospel of Grace.
The department’s approach to worship is driven by excellence and shaped by intentionality. Music is arranged to meet the needs of both in-person and online worshippers, drawing every member into a genuine encounter with God through song. Beyond Sunday services, the department extends its ministry through audio productions and the recording and digital distribution of worship moments under its record label, Shekinah Avenue Music.

The Music Department exists to:
- Lead the congregation in praise and worship at every Sunday service and church event, setting an atmosphere of reverence, joy, and encounter with God.
- Deliver anointed song ministrations that complement the preached Word and deepen the spiritual engagement of the congregation.
- Provide musical accompaniment and vocal ministration during offertory, special services, and any other moments that require musical support.
- Rehearse consistently and rigorously so that every vocal and instrumental presentation is prepared to the highest standard.
- Arrange and present music that serves both in-person and online worshippers, with sensitivity to the diverse needs of the congregation.
- Record and produce church songs and worship moments under the Shekinah Avenue Music label and distribute them digitally.
- Continuously develop the musical skill, spiritual depth, and corporate cohesion of all members through training and mentorship.
- Respond with flexibility and excellence to any musical or vocal requirement that arises within a service or church programme.

The Ensembles
The department is made up of two distinct choral ensembles, each with a defined identity and musical focus, alongside a team of instrumentalists who provide musical support across all services.
Shekinah Tabernacle Choir
The main choir of Shekinah Avenue and the primary vocal ensemble of the department. The choir leads the congregation in praise and worship at every Sunday service, delivers song ministrations during services and special events, and provides the vocal foundation for the church's worship experience. Rooted in a sound that is both contemporary and Spirit-led, it brings together voices trained to worship in excellence, unity, and deep spiritual authenticity.
Glorious Chorale
The hymns choir of Shekinah Avenue, occupying a distinct and cherished place within the department. The Glorious Chorale is dedicated to learning, preserving, and ministering local and classical hymns to the congregation, ministering primarily during special events and occasions and at times leading hymn-singing during offertory. Its presence reflects the conviction that the hymns of the faith carry a depth of theology and devotion that continues to bless the body of Christ.
Instrumentalists
The instrumentalists provide the musical accompaniment that undergirds and enriches every act of worship. Working in close collaboration with both the Shekinah Tabernacle Choir and the Glorious Chorale, they ensure that every service is supported by live, skilful, and Spirit-sensitive musical performance — committed to excellence in their craft and a servant-hearted approach to their ministry role.
The Record Label
Shekinah Avenue Music
Shekinah Avenue Music is the record label of the church, operating under the Music Department. The label exists to record, produce, and distribute the original songs and worship moments of the church, carrying the sounds of Shekinah Avenue beyond its walls and into homes, devices, and hearts around the world.
Through the label, the department captures the authentic worship culture of the church — songs born out of the Glory Mandate, shaped by the Gospel of Grace, and anointed by the Spirit — and makes them available through digital platforms. It represents the church’s commitment not only to worshipping excellently within its walls, but to releasing worship into the world as a ministry and a witness.
How the Department Works
The Music Department operates as a unified ministry team, with the Shekinah Tabernacle Choir, the Glorious Chorale, and the instrumentalists functioning under shared leadership and a common commitment to excellence and spiritual integrity. While each ensemble has its own identity, they are one department — shaped by the same values, serving the same vision, and accountable to the same standards.
Regular rehearsals are at the heart of operations, ensuring every presentation is polished and spiritually prepared. Music leadership selects and arranges material in alignment with the church’s monthly themes and pastoral direction. The department works closely with the Media Department for sound, broadcast, and recording support, taking full responsibility for the integrity and excellence of every musical moment in the life of the church.
